My Aintree Fashion Thoughts

Aintree race day style fashion blogging Ladies Day Milliner Race Day Blogging

What a fabulous weekend for race day fashion! Despite the chilly weather, the girls pulled out all the stops and couldn’t have looked more brilliant, it was an array of colours, patterns and so many different styles! The hats and headpieces spoke for themselves, offering so many different styles to admire. I have to say one of my favourite looks of the whole week was Charlotte Hawkins, stealing the show on Ladies Day wearing Cobalt blue.

The winner of the Style Awards had a real wow factor with her bright yellow dress and black headpiece combination. Sue Moon took a classic look and made a real strong modern twist making so a real sophisticated race day outfit. What a lucky lady to win such incredible prizes a year's worth of Chi Chi London Dresses and a Range Rover.

So many fashion risks were taken at Aintree and some really paid off. This floral twist on the traditional top hat was the perfect accompaniment to the look. The coloured suit is absolutely everywhere this spring / summer and the top hat is the perfect addition. These ladies showcased the true beauty that is pastel colour.

This coral number is a fantastic choice, the midi skirt adds the perfect touch of elegance and the detail on the hat and dress ties the whole look together nicely. The matching of the silver in the dress and the silver in the shoes makes the ideal ensemble.

For others, some mistakes were made for Tanya Bardley the idea of accessorizing with a horse didn’t go down too well and she was disqualified from the event but credit has to be given for thinking outside of the box.

A favourite of mine was Laura Anderson’s striking suit. The mix of the green panelling and this leopard print worked so well and has even got me looking at suits for the races!
